Our Child Care Program Leaders independently plan and implement appropriate enrichment and recreational activities for students in our before and after school program. Job Responsibilities:
- Solely responsible for leading a group of up to 15 students, and/or jointly responsible for leading larger groups in conjunction with other Discovery Club staff.
- Create weekly lesson plans that support the learning and development of all students.
- Provide appropriate behavior guidance for their group of students and take appropriate disciplinary action as needed.
- Develop long-term supportive relationships with Discovery Club participants; assist students developing homework skills.
- Teach and model social skills, personal responsibility, problem solving, respect, and related skills.
- Carry out appropriate health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Pay & Schedule:
- Competitive hourly pay up to $26/hour (based on experience).
- Split shift schedule available from 6:30 am - 9:30 am and 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm OR 7:30 am - 9:30 am 3 days/week 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm 5 days/week.
- Full-time employment starts at 32.5 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- 2 year degree in Child Development, Education, or related field OR 2 years of work experience working with children.
- Current first aid and CPR certificates are preferred or must be obtained within three months of appointment.
- Ability to work effectively with children and their parents/ guardians and work cooperatively with co-workers and school staff.
