St. Peter Claver Catholic School is located in the heart of the historic Rondo neighborhood. We are seeking a team player to join our SPC family! Our small class sizes and family feel make this a perfect place to provide individualized instruction while building one-on-one relationships with scholars. As a self-contained classroom, the candidate would teach Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies, and Religion, but with much support from both internal and external coaches. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction in core subjects (Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies) aligned with diocesan curriculum standards and Common Core State Standards while integrating Catholic values and teachings
- Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes spiritual growth, academic excellence, and character development for students in their crucial transition years between elementary and middle school
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including implementing accommodations for students with learning differences and providing appropriate challenges for advanced learners
- Collaborate with other faculty members to ensure smooth transitions between grade levels and participate in regular professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress through conferences, progress reports, and digital platforms while upholding the school's Catholic identity and mission
- Actively participate in school liturgies, prayer services, and religious celebrations while modeling Catholic values and supporting students in their faith journey
- Utilize educational technology and modern teaching methods to enhance student engagement and prepare learners for success in middle school and beyond
- Monitor and assess student learning through various formal and informal assessment methods, using data to inform instruction and ensure student growth

Salary Range: $36,300 - $85,000 annually
- Starting salary is determined by the candidate's teaching experience and education level

- The final compensation package will be based on verified teaching experience and educational credentials

Position Qualifications and Duties
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, with appropriate state teaching credentials and successful completion of background check
- Demonstrated experience in effective classroom management and differentiated instruction, including the ability to support English Language Learners and implement technology-integrated lesson plans
- Strong commitment to Catholic education with knowledge of and willingness to support Catholic School Mission and Philosophy
- Proven ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues, communicate effectively with parents and the school community, and maintain confidentiality with integrity
- Proficiency in current educational technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, and ability to adapt to new digital tools
- Physical requirements include ability to lift up to 30 pounds and climb stairs as needed for regular classroom activities
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and ability to work independently while following administrative direction and meeting established deadlines

Physical Requirements
- Able to work 40 hours per week
- Fulfill total commitments of the educational program and other activities of the school year
- Able to attend school-related activities such as graduation, Christmas program, Holy Name St. Patrick’s party, and any other programs deemed necessary by the principal and/or assistant principal
- Able to move around a room for long periods of time
- Able to speak, see, hear, and respond to students, co-workers, supervisor, etc. at all times
