Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development:
- Oversee and provide strategic direction to the Maintenance department, ensuring appropriate resources, skill sets, training, and performance management for team members.
- Develop a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to maintenance leaders and technicians, fostering leadership development within the team.
- Develop and implement long-term maintenance and facilities strategies to support organizational growth and efficiency.
- Lead the development and execution of a world-class Preventative Maintenance program, including the procurement and management of spare parts inventory.
- Analyze key performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and implement data-driven solutions to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with required regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other applicable standards.
- Champion a culture of safety by implementing robust safety protocols, conducting regular audits, and addressing unsafe conditions promptly.
- Lead initiatives to improve safety management practices and reduce workplace incidents.
- Drive and oversee improvement projects, including the enhancement of PMs, equipment reliability, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute capital projects that align with company objectives.
- Partner with engineering and production teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to operational challenges.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts for maintenance services and repairs, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality solutions.
- Oversee the coordination and execution of facilities work, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on maintenance performance, including work order completion, downtime analysis, and budget adherence.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Address inquiries and concerns from stakeholders, ensuring timely and high-quality resolutions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible work-related experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a Food Manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale maintenance operations and leading cross-functional teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Food Safety Principles, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and federal regulations (EPA, OSHA, FDA).
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a focus on servant leadership.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to address complex operational challenges.
- Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated success in implementing Lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all organizational levels.
- Perform some job duties in refrigerated conditions (35-40°F) for extended periods.
- Follow all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and OSHA regulations.
- Safely lift, carry, push, and move up to 50 pounds.
