Significant Job Responsibilities
- Perform physical testing and analysis required for research, product development, and customer support
- Assist the Senior Laboratory Technician with goals, schedules, and coordination of laboratory administration including:
- Purchasing and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including preventative maintenance on all equipment, schedule calibration services and maintain records
- Warehouse maintenance and inventory
- Design test programs, provide test quotes and information to clients, acquire test materials and equipment, design and construct test assemblies, perform testing, assisting with laboratory reports
- Perform testing on research projects that provide valuable information to the construction industry
- Assist engineers with in-house testing, field testing, and field inspections
- Daily operations shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Testing, storing, and disposal of laboratory samples, ensuring OSHA regulations, and maintaining proper chemical storage in MSDS
- Operate various laboratory equipment in accordance with standards/ procedures
- Inputting test result data into worksheets or lab reports, such as photographs
- Building test panels or fixtures
- Works with Branch Administrative Manager to assist with maintenance of the office and warehouse
- Responsible for lab facilities cleanliness, organization, etc.
- Drive to various locations for pick up/ drop off of delivery equipment/samples
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- The ideal candidate would have an Associate’s degree in a scientific field and two years of experience in the field of construction or a laboratory setting. Technical background, education, or training a plus, including but not limited to engineering technology, or similar.
- Proficient PC and typing skills required for use in various applications on a daily basis. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel or other spreadsheets
- Ability to write reports
- Capable of following written test procedures
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds
- Capable of climbing ladders
