Your Role With Us:
You will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, quality healthcare to patients in various settings with a variety of acute and critical, medical, surgical and rehabilitation needs. Assisting with surgery preparation for all patients undergoing elective and emergent surgical and endoscopy procedures. Stage 2 recovery for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures. The population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. As a team member you would prep and/or recover everything from an open heart to an esophogastroduodenoscopy and everything in between. This is a busy unit with quick patient turnover, requiring employees who are self-motivated, have great attention to detail, and able to deliver timely competent nursing care. Frequent skills include IV starts, nerve blocks, and solid assessment skills.

Background/Expertise:
- Graduate of a Diploma RN Program and at least 5 years of acute care RN experience ADN, BSN, non-nursing bachelor’s degree with MSN, or MSN; preferred for West Valley Hospital. ADN graduate with less than 5 years of acute care experience required to sign agreement to complete BSN or MSN within 3 years of hire. Note: Employees hired as an ADN prior to October 2011 are not required to obtain BSN or MSN.
- Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon
- Pediatric Adv Life Support required within 6 months of hire
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association required
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse - required for Charge RN or within one year of accepting active Charge RN/leadership responsibility.
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN Staff Nurse experience required, acute care RN Staff Nurse experience preferred.
