Your Role With Us:

As an Insurance AR Specialist at Salem Health, your role would primarily focus on ensuring the timely and accurate processing of claims to maximize reimbursement. You would resolve moderate to complex claim errors before submission, working diligently to ensure that claims are submitted correctly and promptly. When dealing with claim denials, you would take a detail-oriented and proactive approach, addressing issues to facilitate timely resolutions and avoid reimbursement delays. Utilizing your advanced industry knowledge, you would analyze variances between expected and actual reimbursements, conducting thorough research to stay updated on payer contracts and regulations. Your responsibilities would also involve direct communication with payers to follow up on outstanding claims, resolve payment discrepancies, and ensure timely reimbursement. Additionally, you would collaborate with leadership to analyze trends, identify root causes of issues with claim edits and denials, and help develop strategies to reduce accounts receivable. A key aspect of your role would also include maintaining a deep understanding of federal and state regulations, payer requirements, and explanations of benefits to identify billing compliance issues and discrepancies. You would also be ready to take on additional duties as needed to support the team and streamline the AR process.

Background/Expertise:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED
• Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in medical or professional billing REQUIRED
• EPIC Resolute experience PREFERRED
• Moderate knowledge of Revenue Cycle
• Knowledge of EOBs, insurance payers, ICD-9, ICD-10 and CPT codes
