Your Role With Us:
As a Vascular Sonographer or Vascular Technologist, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and assessing vascular conditions using specialized imaging techniques within the Cardiovascular Non-Invasive Services department, and throughout the hospital. Your role will involve interacting with a diverse patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Core Functions:
- Provides direct and indirect care to patients undergoing procedures in the Cardiovascular Non-Invasive Services Department and other areas in the hospital
- Performs carotid, arterial, and venous vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Able to perform abdominal and transcranial Doppler procedures or be able to perform within 6 months of moving into this position.
- Conducts testing under the indirect supervision of a vascular physician
- Positions patient to maximize effectiveness of image and minimize patient discomfort
- Adjusts equipment controls and modifies images during the exam to demonstrate anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and/or pathology accurately
- Operates equipment in m-mode, 2D, and spectral Doppler and color Doppler techniques
- Prioritizes and coordinates patient care and/or services with team members
- Participates in the assessment and development of department and hospital related projects

Background/Expertise:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited school of noninvasive cardiovascular technology/ultrasound OR three years recent experience and at least 800 vascular procedures performed
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Recent experience as a Vascular Sonographer in a hospital based, cardiovascular non-invasive services department preferred
- BLS certification required
- RVT or RVS certification or eligible for RVT or RVS certification and completion within six months of hire required
- Oregon Practice of Sonography license (OBMI) required
