Description :
The position is within a 25-bed Labor and Delivery Unit.
This unit includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, two Operating Rooms, and two Antepartum Rooms.
The facility is a large hospital with over 400 beds.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant fields.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 2-3 for evaluations and 1 : 1 for active labor, Magnesium drip, or epidural cases.
The Postpartum ratio is 1 : 3-4.
The patient population includes all demographics.
The department includes 5 Labor and Delivery rooms, 12 Postpartum rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, and recovery rooms.
The average daily census is 15-25 mothers, babies, and labor patients.
The charting system used is EPIC.
There is no requirement for floating between units.
Shifts include day rotation with one night on call or dedicated evening and night shifts.
Additional certification in ACLS is preferred.
