TITLE: Academic and Behavior Support Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: Certified NH Educator
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
COLLABORATES WITH: Directors of School Counseling, Humanities, CTE, Math & Science, Deans of Students
JOB GOAL: To coordinate and support students with academic or behavioral needs that have negatively impacted school performance and attendance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that students assigned to student support centers follow the Code of Conduct and Cultural Expectations of Safety, Respect, and Responsibility.
- Collaborates with Deans and Student Support teams to support students with behavioral or academic struggles that interfere with learning.
- Serves as a member of the Student Support Team.
- Provides instructional support to students while in student support centers, coordinates with teachers to prioritize learning, and monitors assignment completion.
- Develops and implements an academic transition plan, in coordination with teachers, school counselors, and administrators, for students that have had lenghty absences from school.
- Monitor in-progress grades and course failures for at-risk students to develop competency recovery plans in coordination with directors.
- Coordinate and monitor implementation of competency recover plans, including communication with lab teachers, parents, counselors, and area directors.
- Implementing practices that align with the Salem School District’s Core Values when interacting with staff, students, and other stakeholders.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year Calendar - 186 days
SALARY: Per SEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
EVALUATION: Building Principal or designee
