TITLE: Academic and Behavior Support Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: Certified NH Educator
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
COLLABORATES WITH: Directors of School Counseling, Humanities, CTE, Math & Science, Deans of Students
JOB GOAL: To coordinate and support students with academic or behavioral needs that have negatively impacted school performance and attendance.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures that students assigned to student support centers follow the Code of Conduct and Cultural Expectations of Safety, Respect, and Responsibility.
Collaborates with Deans and Student Support teams to support students with behavioral or academic struggles that interfere with learning.
Serves as a member of the Student Support Team.
Provides instructional support to students while in student support centers, coordinates with teachers to prioritize learning, and monitors assignment completion.
Develops and implements an academic transition plan, in coordination with teachers, school counselors, and administrators, for students that have had lenghty absences from school.
Monitor in-progress grades and course failures for at-risk students to develop competency recovery plans in coordination with directors.
Coordinate and monitor implementation of competency recover plans, including communication with lab teachers, parents, counselors, and area directors.
Implementing practices that align with the Salem School District’s Core Values when interacting with staff, students, and other stakeholders.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year Calendar - 186 days
SALARY: Per SEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
EVALUATION: Building Principal or designee
