Overview: The Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment initiative (MAICEI) is through the MA Office Of Higher Education is a grant funded program for students 18-22 years old who remain eligible for special education services through their district. There are eleven state-wide initiatives providing access to students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. Salem State University’s MAICEI initiative is the Community of Inclusive Scholars (CIS). Students in the CIS program share the same experiences as their college peers in the areas of academics, socialization, professional development, employers/internship sites, and independent living. Students become more independent and actively engaged in creating and living their lives. The CIS Program Employment and Community Life Coordinator serves as the main contact between all parties involved with the program’s implementation: CIS students, SSU Residence Life staff, CIS staff, partnering SSU departments, partnering high school district staff, and families. Working directly with students, CIS Community Peer Mentors, Residence Life staff, and CIS staff, the Campus Life Coordinator oversees the on-going implementation of the CIS Residence Life program, ensuring CIS students have a successful transition living on campus. The Campus Life Coordinator, in collaboration with CIS staff, is also responsible for program development and the implementation of daily programming, activities, and events. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or a related field - Over 2 year’s experience working with adults 18-24 years old with intellectual disabilities and/or autism - Experience collaborating across various stakeholders - Experience with college programming - Experience with supervision and evaluation of staff - Experience with Career Development Preferred Qualifications: - Master’s degree in special education, Social Work or a related field - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement programs for students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism Working Conditions: This is an on-site, in-person position in Salem, MA. Office activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and interaction with computer equipment; occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 5-10 pounds.
