Job Title: Legal Assistant – Civil Litigation
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Our client, an AV-rated litigation firm in West Palm Beach, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy attorney. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with at least 5 years of experience in Civil Litigation, particularly in Homeowners Association Law, Contract Law, and Litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys specializing in Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, and Association Law (Condo/HOA).
- Assist in trial preparation.
- Manage attorneys’ schedules, ensuring they are prepared for meetings and court appearances.
- Take initiative to anticipate attorneys’ needs and streamline workflows.
- Communicate with clients, insurance companies, medical providers, and other third parties.
- Review, organize, and analyze case materials.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal forms.
- Conduct legal research and provide other support duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years experience as a legal assistant/paralegal, particularly in Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Employment Law, and Association Law (Condo/HOA).
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols under State and Federal court systems.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with exceptional writing and typing skills (minimum 65 WPM).
- Ability to draft, review, and edit legal documents with accuracy.
- Proficient in calendaring/docketing of court mandated appointments and deadlines.
- Comfortable with communicating with clients and other outside representatives on a daily basis.
- Working knowledge of case management software and other basic computer software.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Paralegal certification is a plus but NOT required
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary $55,000 to $65,000 (based on experience)
