POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Business Operations Manager (BOM), performs a variety of assigned accounting functions including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and financial reporting. The Accounting Technician assists with records management under the direction of the BOM in accordance with regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED
- Two years of related accounting experience or Associates Degree
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of electronic data processing principles, practices, and equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to proofread documents
- Time management; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- Ability to use and apply technology including new software programs and ability to operate general office equipment
- Ability to solve problems
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Support the Mission and Vision of Salida del Sol Academy
- Assist the BOM with the financial operation of the school
- Review monthly payroll
- Assists BOM with financial reporting and monitoring of grants
- Implements accounting methods to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB); assist with the annual financial audit of the School’s records and transactions.
- Assists BOM with tax filings and reporting including annual W-2, 1099, & 1095 processing.
- Assists BOM with preparing annual budgets and supplemental appropriations. Reviews expenditures and budget appropriations
- Processes invoices.
- Completes weekly financial deposits.
- Issues and maintains records of revenue.
- Answer phones and directs calls appropriately; serves as information resource for public contacts and inquiries.
- Assists with maintenance of HR records.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION
- Annual Salary Range $44,000 to $54,000 depending on experience and education.

- Accrued Paid Leave at 8 hours per calendar month worked; Total 96 hours.
