The Patient Care Coordinator position is a vital member of the Salinas Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine team. The individual is responsible for providing a high-level of customer service that we are known for. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills with the ability to handle detailed information with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for performing the following tasks:
- Answering phones with professional phone etiquette according to Salinas Physical Therapy guidelines.
- Daily scheduling of patients and ensuring all patients leave with a follow-up appointment.
- Collecting payment for all patients at the time of appointment.
- Verifying patient insurance to the full extent of Salinas Physical Therapy standards.
- Completing New Patient Intake Forms and the necessary documentation items in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean workstation and waiting room by following the outlined cleaning schedule.
- Monitoring email and front desk forum daily to stay current on tasks to be completed.
- Updating tracking sheets for key performance indicators, and insurance authorization spreadsheets.
- Scanning patient documents into the EMR system according to Salinas Physical Therapy standards.
- Completing opening and closing procedures to include preparing payment logs for the following day and communicating all unfinished tasks for the next team member
- Reports to: Office Manager and/or Dr. Ruben Salinas
Skills:
Exceptional phone skills, organization, punctual, computer literate, ability to multitask, dependable, flexible, Excel, Word
Communication Skills:
Effectively communicates with staff, patients, insurance adjusters, and other health care personnel as well as legibly documenting all phone calls.
Hours: Part-time (Est.20 Hours per week to start); to be arranged. Monday through Friday only. Typical Shifts are either 7am-1pm or 1pm-7pm.
