Department:
Information TechnologyThis position responds to, assesses and resolves second tier PC hardware, software and peripheral installation and technical support issues. If unable to resolve an issue, this position escalates and assigns tickets to System Specialists as needed following a fixed rotation procedure. This position is also responsible for various areas of surplus asset management, HIPAA compliance, as well as the maintenance and updates of the Help Desk and Technical Services Group policies. Incumbent will assist the Computer Operations Supervisor during Meditech upgrades and as needed for other special projects within the scope of Computer Operations and Technical Services. Performs other duties as assigned by the Technical Services Manager.
- Troubleshoots PC hardware, software and peripheral technical issues.
- Analyzes microcomputer hardware and software configurations, performs system diagnostics.
- Performs preventative maintenance of microcomputer systems and peripherals.
- Analyzes, reviews, monitors, and reports on the performance of existing and future data systems and applications.
- Assists with various asset control and tracking duties. Ensures that all surplus PC storage devices are processed in accordance with HIPAA and SVMH established procedures.
- Utilizes information recorded in the Help Desk ticketing system to manage and process assigned tickets. Completely updates and closes tasks after completion of each service request. Creates new tickets as needed or directed.
- Maintains updates and creates all Help Desk and Technical Services group policies under the direction and guidance of the Technical Services Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Two (2) year Degree in Computer Related field, or commensurate on-job knowledge.
Licensure: Valid California Driver’s License required. A Certification, MCP preferred.
Experience: Four (4) years experience in the computing field and/or Help Desk. Working knowledge and experience with PC hardware, software, peripherals, as well as Help Desk procedures and effective troubleshooting
The hourly rate for this position is $36.67 - $45.84. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
