Workday Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing Workday implementations, upgrades, and ongoing support within our healthcare system. This role requires a deep understanding of Workday Human Capital Management, Financial modules and Supply Chain Management, as well as strong project management skills. The Workday Program Manager effectively leads cross-functional teams, manages project timelines, and ensures successful delivery of Workday solutions. This position requires expert change management and communication skills.

Workday program leadership:

  • Oversee the end-to-end implementation of Workday, ensuring alignment with our healthcare system’s objectives.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

  • Coordinate data migration and integration activities and ensure data accuracy, security, privacy and integrity.

Stakeholder management:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure successful adoption of Workday solutions.

  • Develop and execute effective communication plans to inform stakeholders about project activities.

  • Address stakeholder concerns and resolve conflicts in a professional manner.

Manage system upgrades and updates for performance optimization and process improvement.

  • Continuously monitor and optimize system performance, implementing best practices and staying updated on new Workday features and enhancements.

  • Manage Workday upgrades and patches, including planning, testing, and deployment.

  • Assess the impact of upgrades on existing systems and processes.

Change management:

  • Drive change management initiatives to facilitate smooth transitions and user acceptance.

  • Measure the impact of process changes and adjust plans as needed.

Training & support:

  • Coordinate plans to provide training to users and support teams, and create documentation for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Promotes specialized skills and knowledge through support, training and development of staff members.

  • Provides leadership and supervision regarding departmental performance by completing evaluations, maintaining staff competency and development, adequate staffing, and assures all work in specified areas is completed while maintaining a high level of quality employee engagement. 

  • Is a role model for departmental behavior, and provides and promotes a positive working environment for departmental staff to ensure strong employee morale, motivation and productivity.

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations and workflow to ensure the department’s role and function in the Healthcare System supports the delivery of the highest possible standard of patient care, and customer service for staff and visitors within the available resources.

  • Settles employee issues, counsels employees and administers appropriate disciplinary action as needed.

  • Responds and follows up regarding staff concerns in a timely manner. Balances workload demands with appropriate staff scheduling, while working within departmental budget and productivity goals. 

  • Supports and facilitates staff involvement in programs and committees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree required, or in lieu of bachelor’s degree, eight (8) years’ healthcare experience required in one or more of the following areas: human capital management, financial management or supply chain management systems.   

Licensure:  None.

Experience: Three (3) years’ experience managing human capital, financial or supply chain systems.  At least one year of leadership experience in leading teams. Strong business orientation and broad experience in the healthcare industry managing IT activities. Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Knowledge and ability to work with microprocessor-based systems.  Strong Microsoft Office skills. Must possess good verbal and written skills.

Interpersonal Skills: Requires the use of tact and good judgement when dealing with other departments and organizations.  Must possess good verbal and written skills.  Must be a good communicator with the ability to listen well to others.  Must possess a high level of problem solving and analytical skills.  Must have the ability to positively motivate system users to desired actions in meeting project goals and timeframes.  Must be able to work as part of a team to complete projects and assignments that may require coordinated efforts of several individuals.

The hourly rate for this position is $65.86 - $82.32. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
