PACU Registered Nurse Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at Saline Memorial Hospital. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' medical histories, current health statuses, and readiness for surgery, including reviewing lab results and ensuring informed consent forms are correctly completed.
- Pre-Operative Preparation: Initiate intravenous (IV) lines, administer pre-operative medications as prescribed, and ensure patients are appropriately prepared for surgery.
Duties:
- Monitor Vital Signs: Observe and assess patients emerging from anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, consciousness levels, and for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Manage Pain: Administer analgesics and other medications as needed to manage pain and nausea, ensuring patient comfort.
Requirements:
- RN License: Current state RN license required.
- Education: Associates degree from an accredited nursing school preferred.
- Experience: One year of experience in the perioperative setting preferred.
