Located in the beautiful Lake Champlain Valley of Vermont, Salisbury Community School seeks a dynamic, experienced, and innovative principal to provide leadership for its approximately 58-student school, grades K-5. Salisbury Community School is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program school and part of Addison Central School District, an IB World District.
The ideal candidate will join a strong District Leadership Team made up of dedicated administrators who work together to envision a great future for all ACSD students. Additionally, this position requires a passion to support the success of all learners and the ability to engage the entire community to support exceptional learning for all Salisbury students. Applicants should possess a thorough understanding of state standards (including CCSS, NGSS, C3, the Vermont Education Quality Standards), multi-tiered systems of supports and services, and current research about classroom instruction, student assessment, and equity leadership. Superior knowledge of mathematics and literacy instruction and a strong belief in educating the whole child are important. Successful candidates will have evidence of engaging parents, teachers, students and the larger community to help widen students’ perspective of who they are and help them to become reflective, engaged learners.
Successful candidates will have a minimum of five years teaching/administrative experience with excellent organizational, collaborative, and oral/written communication skills. Applicants must be licensed or in the process of being licensed in Vermont as a principal.
Position to begin July 1, 2025.
