Job Summary
The Clinical Practice Manager is responsible for matching teacher candidates and interns with mentor teachers in pK12 classrooms in over 40 schools across 7 county school districts. The position works with the teacher education programs in the Seidel School of Education to arrange the necessary clinical field experiences to meet the licensure requirements of the Maryland State Department of Education.
Authority and Accountability
This position reports directly to the Dean of the Seidel School of Education. There is a supervisory role for one administrative support staff. This position has shared budgetary responsibilities with the Dean (US290034).
Required/Minimum Qualifications
An earned Bachelor’s Degree with teacher licensure and 3-5 years pK12 teaching experience. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Experience with mentoring, evaluating, and coaching of teacher candidates or new teachers with direct observation and documentation of performance with targeted feedback. Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams) is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in education or related field. Knowledge of formative and summative assessment practices; experience with edTPA or other performance-based teaching portfolio; proficiency with digital databases; experience with using the Canvas Learning Management System and Watermark Student Learning and Licensure system; experience with WorkDay; knowledge of initial and advanced teacher licensure requirements in Maryland; and previous experience with coordinating clinical placements for teacher education.
