JOB SUMMARY

The IT Deputy Manager will have overall responsibility for operations, training and management of all information technology related systems and processes. Solves complex problems and make strategic decisions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and security services at Balad Air Base in support of the F-16 Program. Oversee a diverse range of tasks, from managing daily operations to ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet the project’s technological needs. Evaluate and recommend new hardware and software and negotiate with vendors for cost effective solutions. Supervises a team of reliable professionals that troubleshoot technical issues and provide prompt assistance to maintain smooth operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and mentor an IT team of professionals.
• Provide training to subordinates and ensure all members are well-equipped to utilize technology tools.
• Responsible for the development, selection, deployment, and management of internal IT systems.
• Provide oversight and management of the team responsible for managing the following Performance Work Statement (PWS) services: fiber optic base area network, network and spectrum management, voice telephone systems, Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) communication systems, and mass notification systems.
• Maintains electronic security systems including CCTV systems to ensure they are working efficiently.
• Oversee video teleconferencing systems management, land mobile radio systems, central data repository, and IPTV/CATV systems.
• Create and implement IT policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the IT service desk operates efficiently 24 hours a day.
• Other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Must have strong leadership skills and proven experience in a managerial role.
• Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and be proficient in relevant software/tools.
• A minimum of 15 years of documented IT experience is required.
• An expert understanding of business intelligence planning, networking, disaster recovery and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required.
• Advanced Microsoft technology certifications are required.
• CCNP, ITIL v3/v4, CompTIA CASP are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work in a hazardous, austere environment in extremely hot temperatures is required.
• Have the physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and be able to team lift 50 to 80 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions like sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, etc.
