We are looking for a front desk team member with experience, professional, excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, being able to remain calm in stressful situations, and providing excellent client service and support.
Salon Receptionist Job Description
- Welcomes clients on arrival to the salon
- Answer phone calls, emails, and social media messages promptly and courteously
- Provide complimentary drinks to arriving clients
- Inform colleagues that their client has arrived
- Welcome walk-ins, answer questions about services, and schedule appointments based on availability
- Manage the salon appointment schedule efficiently
- Contact clients if a staff member is sick and re-arrange an appointment
- If not using SMS appointment reminders, call clients to remind them of their appointment
- Call clients who are late for appointments and see if they are running late or are a no-show
- Take payments from clients after their appointment
- Keep reception area clean, tidy, and free from hazards
- Co-ordinate and resolve client complaints
- Properly add clients email addresses and telephone numbers to salon scheduling software
- Keep the retail merchandising stocked & organized
- Recommend retail products when taking payments and inform client of any Salon Special offers
- Prompt clients to book their next appointment
Salon Receptionist Skill Requirements
- Customer service oriented
- Basic computer skills (salon software experience is a plus, Meevo experience is a major PLUS)
- Ability to muti-task in a fast paced environment (clients on phone, clients at the desk, etc.)
- Must be motivated, outgoing, upbeat, nice, engaging, energetic and resourceful
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills to communicate with confidence to both internal personal and external customers
- Demonstrated experience scheduling appointments
- Must be an excellent organizer and problem solver with strong project management skills
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends & some nights
- Able to work on Saturdays and until 8 PM on Thursdays
