About The Role
Salsa is hiring our first marketing leader to define and build the marketing function from the ground up. In this high-impact, hands-on role, you’ll craft Salsa’s voice in the market, define our go-to-market messaging, and own content, campaigns, ABM, and enablement strategy end to end.
We believe the best early-stage marketers are full-stack builders—comfortable developing positioning, creating a blog post from scratch, jumping into Webflow, building an ABM campaign with sales, and reviewing attribution data to iterate quickly. You’ll own both the strategy and the execution.
Your mission will be to establish Salsa as the go-to provider of embedded payroll infrastructure, generate high-intent pipeline, and empower our sales and partnerships teams with the tools and messaging they need to close deals. You’ll also build the foundations for a scalable marketing function as we grow—from brand to distribution to ops.

Key Responsibilities
Messaging, Positioning, & Content
- Develop clear, differentiated messaging that explains what embedded payroll is, why it matters, and why Salsa is the best way to do it.
- Own Salsa’s content strategy and execution across blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, landing pages, and thought leadership.
- Design and execute ABM campaigns targeting high-value vertical SaaS platforms.
- Partner with sales to generate and accelerate pipeline via coordinated campaigns, 1:1 outreach, and tailored collateral.
- Work closely with our sales team to build collateral that explains embedded payroll and helps move deals forward: one-pagers, ROI calculators, pitch decks, industry-specific drip campaigns, success stories, and FAQs.
- Assist our partners in creating tailored marketing materials for their customers (our end users).
- Own Salsa’s website (likely in Webflow), ensuring it reflects our messaging and converts well.
- Manage SEO, landing page optimization, and content publishing.
- Build and manage email nurture flows, product updates, and conversion-focused lifecycle campaigns.
- Maintain brand quality and consistency across all touchpoints, using tools like Figma or Canva to create lightweight visuals as needed.
- Collaborate with our designer for high-impact needs but remain self-sufficient for most execution.
- Select and manage our marketing stack (HubSpot, Customer.io, Apollo, etc.).
- Analyze campaign performance and lead funnel data to improve outcomes and iterate quickly.
- Assist in planning and executing events, webinars, and co-marketing efforts with partners.
- Lay the groundwork for community engagement with customers, developers, and leaders in SaaS.
Experience & Skills
- 3 years of marketing experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or fintech.
- Proven success in content marketing, storytelling, and campaign development.
- Experience with account-based marketing strategies and collaborating closely with sales.
- Familiarity with CMS (Webflow or similar), email marketing tools, and CRM platforms (HubSpot, Apollo, Customer.io).
- Strong understanding of SEO, lead gen, and basic analytics.
- Bonus: experience in payroll, HR tech, or embedded fintech.
