Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Billing & AR Management: Monitor and manage patient aging reports, follow up on outstanding balances, and ensure timely collection of payments.
- Treatment Contracts & Financial Agreements: Review financial contracts with patients, ensuring auto-payments and insurance billing are set up correctly before treatment begins.
- Payment Posting & Adjustments: Accurately post patient payments and apply necessary adjustments in compliance with office policies.
- Patient Engagement: Greet patients warmly, answer billing-related questions, and provide clear explanations of treatment costs and payment options.
- Insurance Coordination (Limited): Assist with insurance verification and initial claim submissions, ensuring patient accounts are billed correctly.
- Scheduling Support: Assist the scheduling coordinator as needed to optimize the patient experience and appointment flow.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain patient records, ensure HIPAA compliance, and adhere to office policies and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical or dental billing (experience with patient collections preferred).
- Strong understanding of CDT codes, EOBs, and dental insurance processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to discuss financial matters with patients professionally and compassionately.
- Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (experience with [insert software name, if applicable] preferred).
- Team player with a patient-first mindset and a willingness to assist in scheduling when needed.
