What are the responsibilities and job description for the Race Event Crew position at Salt Lake City Marathon?
Job Description
Support event logistics as a full and dedicated team member. Work will include two full days of work on Friday, April 25 (7am-5pm), and Saturday, April 26 (3am-4pm). 23 hours of work between the two days.
Responsibilities
Unloading trucks, placing and organizing equipment, inventorying supplies, loading trucks, moving tables and other large pieces of equipment, and installing signage. Each crew member will report to an experienced supervisor and must follow their directions entirely and promptly. The work can be fast-paced at times but generally simple and easy. Candidates must be flexible and go with the flow as dictated by the needs of the event. The environment is fun and uplifting as our team works hard to support thousands of runners reach their goal of completing a marathon or one of several other distances offered.
Qualifications
Candidates must be available on both days (4/25 and 4/26) and have a valid driver's license. Experience with working special events, especially running/endurance events is preferred. The ability to lift 40 pounds on your own is also required. A background check will also be conducted. A positive and social attitude is critical to bringing value to the team.
Pay
$550 flat fee or more depending on past event experience. This is 1099 contract work. Payment will be received 10 business days after last day of work. Snacks, beverages, and lunch will be provided.
