- Engaging with stakeholders to evaluate and manage software deployment from an IT standpoint, which involves participating in project meetings.
- Coordinating IT resources and scheduling to ensure timely project completion.
- Creating project documentation to maintain project organization and progress.
- Engaging with various project stakeholders, such as functional project managers and leads, vendor project managers, and vendor technical and functional leads, to manage expectations and ensure the progression of projects.
- Regularly and promptly updating IT management on project statuses and issues to ensure quick resolution, and providing thorough and accurate reports to executive-level managers.
- Continuous professional growth and training. Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, or a related field with coursework in IT project management is required.
- Four (4) to seven (7) years of experience either as a manager or technical lead on IT projects that includes a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a systems or programmer analyst or systems administrator.
Alternatively, a mix of relevant experience and education is acceptable, following 2 years experience to 1 year education ratio.
Preferred Qualifications
Background in both Higher Education and business.
Skill in integrating Ellucian products, especially Banner.
Systems Administration expertise.
Proficient with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
PMP certification.

- Proficient in project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Experienced in leading IT projects, including SaaS/Cloud and on-premise software implementation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects successfully for various college departments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills suited for individual and group interactions.
- Effective at gathering requirements, conducting buy or build analyses, managing project risks, and implementing software efficiently.
- Thorough understanding of software development and system authentication principles, including SSO.
- Capable of influencing and interacting with individuals across all levels at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) and external partners, consultants or vendors.
- Adept at explaining complex technical systems.
- Able to prioritize, resolve conflicts, facilitate meetings, lead discussions, and deliver presentations effectively.
- Able to support Change Management initiatives (examples include user trainings or marketing materials).
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
- Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
