Assist faculty in the Construction Management Department as a tool room attendant. Assist students with tools, use of tools and equipment as needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Be able to identify all woodworking tools and machinery and understand how they operate.
Know all safety rules of all machinery and hand tools.
Be able to identify different wood species and wood products.
Demonstrate ability to tune-up and sharpen wood planes, scrapers, and chisels.
Be able to assist students with special set-ups if requested by instructor.
Set up and assist students with the edgebander and raised panel door machine.
Be familiar with different types of adhesives and how they are used.

Have attended and successfully completed college level woodworking or cabinet making classes with a C grade or better.

Have completed woodworking or cabinetmaking classes, preferably at Salt Lake Community College.
