Job Description: Event-Based Art Facilitator
Position: Event-Based Art Facilitator (Contract, Hourly Pay)
Shift Duration: 5 Hours per Event
Location: Offsite Event Locations
As a Traveling Art Teacher, you will be responsible for leading fun and engaging beginner-level art classes at offsite events. You will work as part of a team to provide an enjoyable experience for our guests, guiding them through the art-making process while creating a welcoming and energetic atmosphere.
Typical Event Schedule:
- 4:30 PM: Pick up the travel art kit from the studio and load all necessary materials into your car.
- 5:30 PM: Arrive at the event venue, set up the space, and ensure everything is prepared for the class.
- 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Lead a 2-hour beginner art class, starting with a demo. You will guide participants through the painting process, answer questions, and ensure everyone is enjoying the experience.
- 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Clean up the event venue and pack all materials back into your car.
- 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Return the travel art kit to the studio and unload all materials, ensuring everything is properly stored.
Key Responsibilities:
- Art Instruction: Lead art classes for beginners, ensuring participants have a fun and enjoyable experience. Provide a demo at the start of the event and assist participants as needed.
- Hosting & Engagement: Act as an energetic host, engaging with participants throughout the event. You will need to walk around the venue, check in with attendees, and offer support while encouraging a positive, social environment.
- Set-Up & Clean-Up: Arrive 60 minutes before the event for set-up and 30 minutes for clean-up. Ensure all materials are packed correctly and handled with care.
- Teamwork: Work alongside another team member to ensure the event runs smoothly, sharing responsibilities and supporting one another.
Qualifications:
- Strong Communication Skills: Must be confident presenting to large groups, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and engage attendees.
- Hosting Experience: Must be comfortable mingling with guests, providing assistance, and creating a welcoming environment.
- No Art Experience Required: You don’t need to be an expert in every type of art project. Our easy-to-follow kits and instructions will guide you, but a passion for teaching and a positive attitude are essential!
- Dependability & Punctuality: Be reliable and on-time for pick-up, event arrival, and clean-up.
This is a contract position with hourly pay, offering the opportunity to be part of a fun and creative team while delivering memorable experiences at our events!
