What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Host position at SALT?
As our Lead Host, you will be at the forefront of our farm-to-table dining experience. The required in person schedule for this position is Dinner Service on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, Brunch Service on Sunday. Administrative duties can be performed outside of in-person shifts at your convenience. We ask that you check and respond to emails on an almost daily basis to ensure timely communication with guests and team members.
Responsibilities include -
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.Creating a sense of community and ensuring a memorable dining experience
- Escort guests to their assigned tables or rooms
- Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials
- Take and manage reservations using the reservation booking platform TOCK
- Assist with seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space
- Answer phone calls and address guest inquiries or concerns
- Coordinate with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth flow of service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and maintain cleanliness throughout the restauraunt
- Assist with guest relations and provide excellent customer service
- Accurately input events from the event booking platform into the reservation booking system
- Handle all inquiries related to large party reservations, providing detailed information and ensuring a smooth booking process
- Respond to guests' questions and concerns about their upcoming reservations in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with guests
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to train new staff
- A warm and friendly demeanor with a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Proficiency in using reservation booking platforms and other related software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a customer service or guest-facing role is required
- Familiarity with restaurant operations
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
