What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian (East Northport Corps) (P/T 9 HRS/WK) position at Salvation Army ARC?
Responsibilities
- Keep building clean
- Provide routine cleaning, sanitation and general upkeep
- Clean, dust furniture, sweep, mop or vacuum floors
- Empty/clean wastebaskets, trash containers, pick up recycled paper, replace light bulbs, and refill restroom dispensers.
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow and debris from sidewalks
- Keep inventory of all cleaning supplies and inform Office Manager
- Prepare all meeting rooms and set up for programs, as directed
- Clean glass doors and windows.
- Clean gym floor as needed
- Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
- Follow building sanitation procedures
- Clean bathrooms daily.
- Vacuum chapel weekly or as needed. Dust furnishings weekly
- Clean kitchen as needed and instructed.
- Move furniture, equipment and tools, as needed Open all locked offices to be cleaned, shut off coffee pots.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Experience in or ability to learn general building maintenance.
- Flexibility and a cooperative spirit are crucial characteristics of the individual who holds this important position
