What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Planner position at Salvatore's Events & Catering?
Salvatore’s Events and Catering is a premier event venue in the South Hills of Pittsburgh in search of a full-time Event Planner to join the team and hit the ground running in a fast-paced events and catering environment. This family-owned facility specializes in catering to all events from small business meetings to grand weddings.
Responsibilities:
-Develop existing client base, effectively solicit new prospects and former bookings for the purpose of selling catering services and event spaces
-Maintain contact with existing and prospective clients, both corporate and social, through emails and follow-up phone calls
-Conduct venue tours and create positive experiences for the clients during visiting appointments
-Discuss planning needs with clients, make personalized contracts, detail the files for each event with menu choices, room set-up, and beverage service, to ensure solid communication with staff
-Complete office administrative duties such as following up on inquiries, answering emails, record keeping, and placing vendor orders
-Oversee wedding and private party set-ups and itineraries to make sure we exceed expectations
-Maintain effective and efficient communication with all departments (chefs, bartenders, waitstaff, maintenance, etc.)
-Work with outside vendors, including bakeries, specialty linen companies, florists, etc. to coordinate timely delivery and set up
-Take photos of events and updates social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Google)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Business/Event Planning and related experience is preferred
- Available to work full-time including evenings and weekends
- Positive demeanor and willingness to find solutions to unpredictable challenges
- Must be proficient in computer knowledge including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher)
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Professional and polished appearance
-Fluent in social media and it’s trends
-Knowledge of Canva
