This job posting is for a weekday shift, Monday through Friday.
SHSU Online Operations student assistants work in a positive, structured, team centered environment. Student Assistants respond to requests visible within a software dashboard. This position provides support to the Online Operations department in a variety of areas, including but not limited to administration, faculty development, and course development. They might also assist by inserting captions, creating transcripts, and working with audio edits associated with various videos and multimedia. The student assistant will communicate with internal (faculty and staff) and external customers via email and/or chat communications.

The student assistant will communicate with internal (faculty and staff) and external customers via email and/or chat communications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Complete assigned support requests in a timely manner while ensuring that all quality customer service standards are upheld.
- Work collaboratively with other team members and SHSU Online staff to ensure the successful completion of assigned support requests.
- Maintain accurate status records of each request (In Progress, In Review, Resolved, etc.)
- Prioritize responsibilities to meet request due dates.
- When necessary, escalate support requests to the appropriate staff member for troubleshooting.
- Complete regularly assigned training and quality assurance protocols successfully.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Other Requirements for the Position
You must be currently enrolled as a student at Sam Houston State University taking at least 6 credit hours to be eligible for this position.
Position may work remotely: must provide your own quiet workspace, computer, microphone, headset, internet connection and other related accessories/peripherals.
On site option is available at SHSU University Plaza (1 Financial Plaza, Huntsville, Texas 77340).
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting to accomplish tasks in an ever-changing environment. Developing solutions to seemingly new situations and issues on a regular basis. Work is of moderate technical complexity and problems are resolved based on individual inquiry, knowledge from training, experience and/or college level courses. Requires a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
