What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credentialed Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Counselor position at Samaritan Health?
Pay Range: $22.11 - $35.37
Associate’s degree in chemical dependency counseling or related human service field preferred.Minimum of one year experience providing direct counseling services to persons suffering from alcoholism and alcohol abuse and their families preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Demonstration of knowledge of adherence to OASAS clinical competencies. CASAC - Certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York State or a qualified health professional recognized by the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services in New York State. CASAC –in- Training – certification from OASAS of NY State. Examples of eligible applicants as qualified health professional other than CASAC or CASAC-T include: New York State licensed mental health counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor, recreational therapist with a Baccalaureate degree certified by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation, and Family therapist accredited by the AAMFT.
