Samaritan Healthcare is seeking a Mother Baby Unit Director for our growing community! At Samaritan Healthcare we are dedicated to providing healthcare services to the community that we serve. Under the overall direction of the Chief of Patient Care Services, this position is responsible for the overall operation of the Mother Baby Unit clinical patient care areas, the patient population and assigned staff. Core staff-plan accountability for systems function, staff performance and patient care in the Mother Baby Unit.
This is a full-time salary exempt position.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- BSN required or equivalent experience. MSN preferred or MS in Business or Healthcare Administration.
- Certification in clinical area of expertise preferred.
- Prior experience/expertise for three years in clinical area relevant to unit patient population.
- Current Washington State RN license.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within six (6) months of hire.

- Demonstrates evidence of essential leadership, communication, education, collaboration, and counseling skills.
- Cultivates effective partnerships, effectively collaborates with all practice providers (Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant and other licensed allied health team-members).
- Demonstrates effective delegation skills to streamline operational workflows and optimize inter-office resources.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional or prolonged standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, pushing and pulling.
- Physical capability and stamina to carry out all psychomotor skills and strength/motion/movement required of area staff as defined in RN job description and unit-based performance standards.
- Good eyesight. Ability to see clearly 20 feet or more, to judge distance and space relationships, and to see peripherally.
- Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
