Job Description
Position Summary: This position provides direct client care and supervision of staff at The Hallow, a residential home for trafficked youth licensed by DBHDS. The Hallow residents have experienced sex-trafficking and /or sexual exploitation and ages range from 11-17 years. Job responsibilities include, although not limited to, providing supervision, care, and ensuring safety of the residents and supervising Behavioral Health Assistants. This position is exempt, full-time, and includes full benefits offered through Samaritan House. The hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm.
Immediate Supervisor: Program Director
Job Duties:
Assessing clients’ physical and mental wellness, needs, preferences and abilities and using these to develop tailored Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
Works with guardians, support networks, counselors, health care professionals, social services, juvenile courts, and law enforcement alongside an MDT to maintain resident support plans.
Ensure resident records are kept in order, completed correctly, and filed in accordance with DBHDS policies and procedures.
Oversee and provide guidance to all Behavioral Health Associates as their supervisor.
Assists in scheduling appointments, including but not limited to, doctor, dentist, counseling, educational needs, and other outside appointments and activities. Disperse directions to BHA staff, as necessary.
Listens to clients’ concerns and provides counseling or intervention as required.
Recording clients’ progress including charting referrals, home visits and other notable interactions.
Arrange transitional and discharge plans for residents including legal guardians to continue on the path to success after departure from the program.
Following up with discharged clients to ensure they were satisfied with services, and they are still in good physical and mental health.
Providing back-up coverage, 1 week per month or as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Compassionate, calm demeaner, and able to meet residents “where they are” with various needs.
Supportive, knowledgeable, and professional when interacting with residents, other professionals, and legal guardians at all times.
Strong behaviorally specific, supportive, and positive written and verbal skills to explain to residents, guardians, and other professionals the case and care plan and maintain professional case records.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to determine the best care plan for each resident after assessing residents and analyzing notes from health care, social workers, and/or other professionals involved.
Organization to manage several different case plans at once.
Computer literacy to maintain and manage documentation filed and stored on computers.
Reliable transportation and license to drive, including driver’s insurance.
Education and Training Requirements:
Require a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in the mental health field.
Must have as a minimum 1-year experience working with traumatized youth with severe mental health diagnosis:
Preferred, but not required, a hands-on experience in a group-home environment and/or in the mental health field specifically involving complex PTSD in youths (and other mental health conditions) and/or crisis intervention.
Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening.

Must have as a minimum 1-year experience working with traumatized youth with severe mental health diagnosis:
- Preferred: meet the definition of a Qualified Paraprofessional in Mental Health which has an associate’s degree in a related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling) and at least one year of experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness.
- OR registered with the U.S. Psychiatric Association (ASPRA) as an Associate Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider.
- OR has a minimum of 90 hours classroom training and 12 weeks of experience under the direct personal supervision of a QMHP-A providing services to individuals with mental illness and at least one year of experience (including the 12 weeks of supervised experience).
Preferred, but not required, a hands-on experience in a group-home environment and/or in the mental health field specifically involving complex PTSD in youths (and other mental health conditions) and/or crisis intervention.
Must be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening.
