Principal Accountabilities
· The purpose of this position is to provide technical and administrative support to the Fitness for Duty (FFD) program during the Columbia Generating Station Outages. This position encompasses the collection of breath and urine specimens and maintenance of documentation in accordance with 10 CFR Part 26, Federal and State regulatory guidelines as required by NRC, OSHA, HHS, and WAC.
· Provide technical support in the collection, processing, documentation, and handling of urine and breath specimens. Collect and process urine samples for analysis in accordance with established procedures. Perform analysis of breath samples to include analysis of data. Maintain FFD equipment and perform limited troubleshooting of instruments. Provide technical support in the operation, performance, and accuracy checks of the testing equipment in accordance with the manufacturers’ specifications. Maintain required certifications under 10 CFR Part 26 qualifications and responsibilities for urine and breath alcohol testing.
· Maintain FFD collection and testing facility supplies, equipment, and record systems. Assure that strict confidentiality is in place at all times.
· Effective communications and human relations skills and the ability to discreetly handle sensitive/confidential information.
· Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and be proficient in the use of personal computer hardware, software, and various applications.
· Must have the ability to work under critical deadlines and stressful conditions.
· Ability to pass background elements required under 10 CFR Part 26.
Required Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be trainable to a broad based knowledge of all aspects of collection and processing of specimens for drugs and alcohol in accordance with 10 CFR Part 26 and Fitness for Duty Instructions.
- Must be skilled in basic computer software packages including MS Office, and a knowledge of advanced software may be required.
