The Opportunity
The Assistant Project Manager role offers the chance to engage directly with clients while supporting a team that includes a project engineer, CAD designer, and closely collaborating with our permit coordinator. Projects are typically commercial and range in size from under 1 to 5 acres.
Work Location: In-person (Raleigh, NC office)
The qualified candidate will:
- Have experience managing and guiding commercial developments through the site development and civil engineering processes
- Develop project plans including but not limited to goal, strategy, identification of risk, scheduling, budget, allotment of resources, analysis of development alternatives and communicate with team
- Responsible for managing multiple projects while maintaining high quality and customer satisfaction
- Communicate to team and customers on status of projects
- Provide day-to-day guidance for projects’ activities
- Identify and solve projects’ challenges with team members
- Evaluate resources, monitor schedules and workflow
- Write proposals for leads and existing clients
- Maintain and build client relationships
- May travel to construction sites to assist with project needs
Qualifications
- College degree in related field of study
- Minimum 2 years of land planning, civil engineering, or related experience
- Experience working with city officials and guiding projects through the permitting and review process
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, creativity, and mature judgement
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment
- Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
