Description
Under the supervision of the Head of Technical Services Librarian and / or the Library Director, the Technical Services Law Library Assistant is responsible for receiving, processing, maintaining, and updating the bibliographic records for serial publications in all formats in the online library system. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, computer, clerical, and organizational skills.
Job Duties
Catalog Management
- Add new bibliographic, holdings, and item records to Sierra, our library system.
- Assign Library of Congress subject headings and call numbers using Library of Congress Classification, Library of Congress Classification and Shelf listing Manual, and local schemes.
- Tackle complex issues stemming from obsolete or incorrect information in bibliographic and holdings records.
- Stay current with cataloging guidelines, and industry trends, incorporating new guidelines and discussing changes with colleagues when appropriate.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or higher will be considered in lieu of the experience requirement.
