Promotes health career programs for students. Prepares and delivers health career / science topics and college / career information to a variety of age groups.
- This is a hybrid position in which it will consist of work in the community, remote work, and some work in an office. Ability to travel to schools within the Willamette Valley is required.
- Ideal candidate will have experience working with high school students and / or community health.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree in a healthcare, education, science or technology related field plus two (2) years experience in a related field.
- AHA Heart Saver Instructor certification required within 1 year of hire. AHA BLS instructor certification preferred.
- Clinical and teaching experience preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Health career curriculum - Knowledge of student learning theory and adult learning theory to design and deliver career related content. Knowledge of state career related learning standards as they relate to healthcare careers. Ability to use community resources to coordinate students mentorship with healthcare workforce members.
- Anatomy and physiology - Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Community relations - Ability to communicate to people internal and external to the organization and to represent the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.

The AHEC mission is to enhance access to quality health care, particularly primary and preventive care, by improving the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals via strategic partnerships with academic institutions, communities, and professional organizations. Our programs range from introducing to assisting students into the educational pipeline students to a wide range of healthcare careers. We also work continuing education program development, implementation and delivery. All programs are accomplished with partnerships with community organizations.
One (1) of the following required :
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, education, science or technology related field.
Computer Literacy – Possess proficient computer skills in department applications including MS Office, databases, web-page editing software and online conference platforms and webinar hosting. Ability to edit web pages, use PowerPoint to promote programs and share results, and use spreadsheets, word applications, and data bases to store and analysis information.
