Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer screening protocols to identify students' needs
- Transport students to and from testing or therapy areas
- Implement therapeutic treatment protocols written by the supervising speech-language pathologist
- Communicate effectively with students and other professionals to meet their emotional needs
- Obtain case histories and complete observation checklists
- Manage student behavior using designed management techniques
- Record target behaviors during therapy sessions
Education and Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting from an accredited institution
- Evidence of successful completion of a competency test approved by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- Registration as an assistant with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
