DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Sampson County Parks & Recreation is seeking an energetic self-driven team member who works well in both a group setting and independently.
The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate youth programs with a focus on athletics. Coordinator's assist management in developing and implementing a strategic plan and sets goals for the department. Responsibilities include drafting teams, selecting coaches, training officials, scheduling games/practices, directing and implementing a variety of recreation programs, activities, special events, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Recreation Manager.
This organized, creative, and approachable coordinator hires, trains, and schedules part time staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A bachelor's degree with coursework in recreation, sports management, or related field and moderate experience in organized recreation programs combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills are minimal requirements along with a valid NC Driver's License.
