Industrial Maintenance Technician
OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION
Responsible for the ongoing maintenance, both preventative and repair, for all facility equipment and structures. This work is primarily electrical work, but includes mechanical and hydraulic work as well. Involves performing individual maintenance tasks, including installation of new equipment, scheduled maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing unplanned repair.
PREREQUISITES
Experience performing and coordinating industrial maintenance work in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of :
Plasmas, Press Brakes, CNC & Manual Equipment
Facilities Maintenance, including heating, plumbing, and electrical systems
Industrial wiring including power supplies, relays, encoders, servos, and PLCs
Electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, etc.
SPECIFIC DUTIES / FUNCTIONAL TASKS
Troubleshoot and repair day to day issues with process equipment in timely manner, minimizing down time and production impact.
Coordinate repair activities with outside resources as needed, through telephone and email.
Perform routine maintenance on all equipment as required, working either independently or with others as appropriate.
Operate machinery to support maintenance and production efforts. Common machines used are surface grinders, lathes, and manual mills & drill presses.
Maintain all plant electric, plumbing, air and facilities as needed.
Perform routine inspection of fire extinguishers, hoists, safety interlocks, etc.
Work under the instruction and coordination of the maintenance supervisor, and work independently as needed.
Work with plant and production management to ensure all processes and procedures are being conducted in a safe manner.
Able to read and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Must have broad knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes and handbook formulas along with a working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, Motor Control, and Power Distribution.
Able to locate, diagnose and remedy troubles quickly to avoid shutdowns.
Adjust all plant equipment to proper operating characteristics.
Safely troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues as they arise.
Maintain, install, set-up, and troubleshoot DC and AC variable frequency drives.
Maintain, install, troubleshoot, and make minor program modifications.
Utilize test equipment such as digital multimeter, multifunction loop calibrator, Fluke scope meter, data logging recorders, and other equipment as deemed necessary.
Provide electrical diagrams in sketch format to Engineering and distribution changes.
Perform other tasks as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Ability to use required tools of the maintenance craft : measuring instruments, hand and power tools, multimeter, PC
The position requires work on ladders and in personnel lifts, and will require working on large equipment.
Willingness to work required overtime when schedule demands it.
Excellent attendance.
Professional communication skills, verbal and oral, with internal and external resources.
Must be able to communicate with other people regarding troubleshooting.
Must be able to read technical manuals, blueprints, and various maintenance and repair documents.
5-7 years of experience in related work in a manufacturing facility.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE THAT ARE A PLUS (But not required) :
Operating a fork truck.
CNC machine operation experience.
Maintenance / Company ERP software experience.
An A.A.S degree or certificate from an accredited school.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Mix of Shop Floor and office environment. Physical job requiring standing and steady lifting of product weighing 30 to 60 lbs.
