Job Description
The Regional Sales Director will lead the sales team in securing and managing distributors, field sales reps/District Managers within the region to meet planned territory sales objectives. The position requires developing positive relationships with the field sales team and securing adequate distribution channels within the region to ensure proper coverage and market penetration.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets.
- Secure orders through phone and personal calls on traditional distributors, national accounts, w.d's, equipment specialists, buying groups, oil jobbers, and other customers within the assigned region.
- Plan weekly management and sales promotion activities to maintain key distributor and customer relations while prioritizing the most important issues and opportunities.
- Identify key sales opportunities, such as new distribution, National accounts, or existing distribution, to increase sales within the region and communicate these opportunities to direct reports and supervisors.
- Hire and retain top sales talent for the region by networking and creating relationships in the industry with complementary companies and products.
- Prepare and submit weekly sales/activity and expense reports for direct supervisors.
Requirements:
- A high school education is required; a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing, is preferred.
- Two years of experience in the lubrication industry and/or automotive aftermarket are preferred.
- A strong background in selling to and through distribution is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- A valid driver's license is required.
