Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist familiar with FMCSA regulations to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and performing regular inspections for driver's and mechanics. This role is crucial in promoting occupational health and safety standards across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs in accordance with FMCSA, FMCSR, OSHA regulations and EPA guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide training development for employees on FMCSA regulations, first aid, CPR, EHS practices, and other safety-related topics.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving workplace safety culture.
- Fabricate safety equipment or tools as necessary to enhance workplace safety measures.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes related to occupational health and safety and FMCSA regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in a Safety Specialist role or similar position within an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations, OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and best practices in occupational health.
- Experience with training development and delivery related to safety protocols.
- Familiarity with first aid, CPR certification, root cause analysis techniques, and workers' compensation processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels regarding safety matters.
- Strong analytical skills to assess risks and implement effective solutions.
