What are the responsibilities and job description for the IQC Inspector- 2nd Shift position at Samsung Electronics America Inc.?
Position Summary
This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials from global and local vendors and perform other related quality assurance tasks in adherence to process to meet IQC mission of delivering good quality parts to the line on time.
Role and Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities
Regular Inspection: Inspection of parts from global and local vendors
Picking inspection items from pallets/trolleys brought by MM, ML, or others to the designated area
Perform complete inspection in accordance with packaging specifications, CTF/CTQ and inspection instructions assigned by management to ensure quality of parts
Completing inspection documentation properly and adequately, including registration of inspection results in SQCI for each lot
Returning inspected items with properly filled out Pass label and/or directed method to original pallet/trolley
Wrapping inspected pallets and/or storing inspected items properly to prevent any damage during handling and transportation
Inspection and verification of change point for material (Samples and 1st ECN Lot)
Special Inspection
MII (Mass Intensive Inspection) of parts when needed
Inspection of parts from KA01 area (for parts which IQC judgement is needed)
Inspection and verification of parts required for part approval
Inspection and verification of parts for any upcoming new builds (all build levels and Multi Lot)
Buyer Inspection
Act as a buyer inspector at local supplier sites
: Daily commute to local vendor is required (travel expense (gas reimbursement) will be covered based on company policy)
Final inspection, OQC, and other QC related process check at vendor site
Perform complete inspection in accordance to packaging specifications, CTF/CTQ, and inspection instructions assigned by management to ensure quality of parts
Others
Maintaining and securing of all tools and inspection equipment needed for incoming inspection
Calibration of test machines at beginning of shift to ensure they are working properly
5S activities
Other IQC operations related responsibilities as assigned/requested by IQC management
Output:
Inspection of items within 24-hour period of GR in SQCI and/or by other company policy if applicable
Immediate escalation of issues found during inspections
Writing and submission of QFIX (Quick Fix) and QTR (Quality Trouble Report) against vendor issues
Statistical calculation and summarizing inspection report for material verifications, MII, and multi inspections
Summary report of daily buyer inspection
Escalation of issues to SQE and management

Skills and Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Previous quality experience preferred, and Minimum 6 month of manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge: Experience with testing and measuring equipment (Caliper, micrometers, height gauge, tensile, hardness gauges, and etc.)
Skills: Measurement, Inspection, communication, etc.
Physical requirement: Ability to lift under 35 pounds unassisted and over 35 pounds using a two-man lift
Ability to sit, stand, squat, bend, walk, carry for 8 – 10 hours a day
