Position Summary

Role And Responsibilities
- Document accounting treatment of the Company’s transactions in accordance with internal reporting standards and IFRS
- Analyze complex accounting issues and resolve appropriately
- Provide guidance to the various business groups of the Company and recommend appropriate accounting procedures based on facts and circumstances of transaction.
- Assist with periodic process audits and review of inventory-related controls to ensure proper management and reconciliation of consumer electronic inventory including cycle count compliance, proper transaction, virtual bucket analysis, obsolescence risk, and inventory observation.
- Assist with both internal and external audit support as required, inclusive of the Company’s risk management tools and open item reduction (FSCS and Financial Health Check).
- Support SEA Accounting Leadership with ad hoc projects assigned by management including internal reporting and communications.
- Support performance of Company’s month-end close process, journal entry recording, account reconciliation, and flux review
- Responsible for overall review of Samsung Rewards ecosystem and accrual adequacy.
- Assist with open item maintenance and reconciliation of the Company’s GL accounts
- Assist with performance of legal depositions throughout the year as finance representative of the Company where testimony is legally binding.
To qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:
- A Master’s Degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field from a four-year college or university
- 10 - 14 years of accounting or related experiences involving full cycle accounting, closing and audit duties, technical accounting, documenting processes, and reporting to executive level management. Public Accounting experience in an audit role highly preferred where years of required experience can lower to 5 to 8 years.
- Experience managing individuals, developing staff, and providing guidance
- Experience with project management; planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple complex assignments and projects
- In-depth use and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Tableau and SAP
- Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the organization and have frequent external contacts.
- Demonstrated effective writing, public speaking, and training skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company
- Detailed oriented person with strong leadership experience willing to take on a challenge
- The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments.
- Reads, interprets, and acts on proper understanding of accounting and financial documents based on corporate legal, accounting principles, and business financial philosophy.
- Ability to communicate in writing, through emails and reports, or orally, complex accounting and financial reporting matters to an audience that may include less technically oriented listeners.
- Ability to supervise the activities of staff members in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications.
- Bilingual Korean and English speaking preferred, but not required, in order to assist with Suwon-level reporting.
