Description
J Camp Extended Care Counselors are essential for campers who need care before or after camp. J Camp Extended Care Counselors are responsible for ensuring a safe and positive experience for their designated group of campers. Position pays $18.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assume responsibilities for a group of campers under their care to ensure a positive and safe camp experience.
- Actively participate in and supervise activities during J Camp, including the pool.
- Plan and lead camp activities.
- Ensure that the spaces used for J Camp are cleaned before leaving.
- Support the emotional and social wellbeing of the kids through positive behavior management, supportive interactions and conflict resolution.
- Communicate regularly and appropriately with the rest of the J Camp staff team, both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure children get to where they need to go as directed by the J Camp leadership team.
- Act as a positive ambassador of the SJCC both inside and outside of the SJCC
- Follow all emergency procedures at the SJCC.
- Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines or scheduling needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
