POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Controls Professional will be responsible for providing high quality project controls services, managing costs with regard to all aspects of cost management for the assigned project or team. Duties include developing project estimates, budgets, schedules, change management, forecasts, progress tracking, cashflow and manpower requirements.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Constructs and may pursue alternative paths towards a solution. Exercises judgment in selecting method, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results consistent with broadly defined policies and practices.
Problem/Task resolution timeframe: Inclusive of shorter timeframes, but typically six to twelve months or more to resolve.
Work is accomplished with limited direction. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
Frequently inter-organizational and outside customer/vendor contacts. Part of a team who represents the organization. Monitors activities and communicates information across the organization.

Sr. Project Controls Professional IV
- Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Assists with proposals to provide professional services to obtain funding for engineering projects and programs.
- Liaise with accounting personnel regarding actual costs and accrual values and ensure overall good coordination between project cost systems and accounting systems.
Sr. Project Controls Professional III
- Liaise with contractors regarding progress, schedules, contract administration, etc.
- Coordinate with other project personnel to develop effective WBS structures.
- Prepare and maintain engineering earned value reports.
Sr. Project Controls Professional II
- Provide cost and schedule input to monthly reporting and management presentations, including evaluations and presentations of current status; compare forecasts to the approved budgets and provide explanations of variances.
- Prepare and maintain scope change logs and trend logs.
- Collect, analyze and reduce cost data to statistics and metrics for use in benchmarking, scoping studies, execution planning and estimating
Sr. Project Controls Professional I
- Prepare contracts and budgets for projects for which one is responsible. Closely monitor projects by the use of financial tools
- Implement the project management plan of the company and monitor the implementation of the office’s financial controls. All projects must have a budget of dollars and hours;
- Monitor engineering contracts, subcontracts, change orders and other agreements to ensure that established procedures are being followed;
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Sr. Professional IV - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 10 years
Sr. Professional III - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 12 years
Sr. Professional II - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 14 years
Sr. Professional I - Education = Bachelor's or equivalent; Experience = 14 years
