What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transactions Director position at Samuel Knight Energy?
Our client is a market leader in the development and operations of Solar and Battery Energy Storage assets in the US market, and have opened up a brand new role at the top of their revenue function.
As they look to scale up their project portfolio in 2025, this person will play a critical role in ensuring the business makes wise acquisitions, divestitures, and contract agreements that provide long-term revenue streams for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the sale and financing of innovative battery storage and solar PV assets
- Develop and execute comprehensive transaction strategies
- Manage end-to-end deal processes from origination to closure
- Lead acquisitions and divestitures of pre-construction projects, including contract negotiations and due diligence processes
- Originate new offtake contracts, preparing and managing high-quality proposals
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company goals
- Identify and evaluate emerging market trends and opportunities in the renewable energy sector
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry leaders
- Oversee the preparation of offering materials for asset sales and project financing
- Lead and mentor the business development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the renewable energy or power sector
- Proven track record in successful transaction management and contract negotiations
- Strong background in financial modeling, particularly with renewable energy projects
- Deep understanding of the clean energy market, including solar and battery storage technologies
