What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Samuel, Son & Co. 1855?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes, complies, actively participates in the importance of safety policies, to help maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Meets with Production Foreman and Supervisors to review production schedules.
- Communicate shortfalls with manufacturing such as material shortages and paint inventories to improve product flow and on time delivery.
- Works with Purchasing to resolve and communicate material shortages.
- Monitor RMA process and help schedule repair process to meet on time delivery expectations.
- Manager, to ensure timely completion of work to meet scheduled ship dates.
- Work with Sales Representatives to answer and assist with any schedule requests.
- Analyze customer-scheduling changes and internal scheduling changes and make necessary changes to meet both the change and to smooth the production plan.
- Helps assists with time approvals.
- Requires knowledge of manufacturing procedures and capacities, company products and components and production control procedures.
- Manage program customer production schedules meeting customer expectations and working capital expectations.
- Assist Finishing Foreman weekly demand schedules in identified work cells/areas to improve weekly productivity.
- Works with the Shipping coordinator to reach our monthly Shipping Goals and on time delivery.
- Works with Outside Vendors on scheduling the completion of work.
- Works with Customer Care if there are modifications to the schedule and reschedule if needed.
- Assist shipping department by closing BOL’s and tagging pressure vessels as needed.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of online computer systems and PC based computer programs
- Knowledge in ERP Systems
- Microsoft Office
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Related experience in scheduling and inventory management is a plus.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instruction.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- An associate degree and 1 to 3 years of related job experience or High School Diploma and 3 - 5 years’ experience. Experience defined as production control or manufacturing utilizing an integrated ERP system.
