- Repair and maintenance of dies within a timely manner
- Ensure tools are ready according to production schedule
- Monitor production status of dies
- Drive quality improvements of tools based on changeover times hits/hour, and quality.
- Order spare parts and Tool components,
- Meet with outside Die shops and obtains quotes for any work to be sub-contracted.
- Address employee suggestions as required and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Keeps management informed daily – no surprises.
- Comply with all ISO14001 TS16949 standards.
- Reviews requirement and monitors daily quality status of production tooling to ensure total defect free shipments.
- Performs customer visits as required.
- Ensures equipment breakdowns and downtime is dealt with immediately.
- Coordinate implement and monitor effectiveness of all initiatives generated to improve productivity, safety, and report back when done and any other duties that may be assigned.
- Maintains timely records and information
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Complies with the designated IATF16949 responsibilities, environmental management system, health & safety and company rules and guidelines.
- Ensures company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel and visitors. Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as always required
- Maintains a high standard of general housekeeping consistent with 5S standards
- Strives for continuous improvement
- Currently working towards obtaining a valid Tool & Die Makers Certificate and 3 to 5 years of job-related experience.
